Almost all of the sitting jobs posted are located throughout Johnson County, Kansas.

There is a one-time fee of approximately $30 sitters age 18 or older must pay to our background check company . This must be completed and passed before sitters can access the app to apply for sitting jobs.  There is no charge collected by Nounou Neighbors from our sitter. 

You will be able to keep 100% of the payment you receive from the family.  There is absolutely no charge or fee for sitters to use Nounou Neighbors. Rates are set by the families and listed in the job posting.

Signup Under “Looking for a Job”. Then complete the background check by following the instruction in your email. (for sitters age 18+). Then email info@nounouneighbors.com with your profile and a current picture of yourself.  You will then be contacted by us to schedule your interview and training session.  Once all steps are completed you will be able to download and login to the Nounou Neighbors Sitter app.

When families post a job request you will receive a push notification with the details of the job. If you are interested and available for the job click “Accept” on the job in the app to be opted-in for the job.  You will then be contacted directly by the family if they would like to consider you for the job.

You will be paid directly by the family based upon hours worked at the agreed upon hourly rate.  We have no involvement in the sitter payment process.

If you have been subjected to, or become aware of, any behavior or conduct by a family member, or any other individual who you encounter while acting as a caregiver, that you believe is unsafe, inappropriate, offensive, or may constitute harassment, please immediately bring the incident to the attention of info@nounouneighbors.com.

Nounou Neighbors encourages you to report any incidents of such conduct or behavior. We will promptly handle any report that is made. Please note that any report made is a private communication between you and Nounou Neighbors. We require all adults in the household of families using the app to complete and pass a criminal background check before being allowed access to the app.

No.  We specialize in babysitting in the traditional sense and not in nannies.  Our sitters provide occasional sitting such as for a night out, for weekend activities, and during the summer.  We do have the occasional sitter available for a daytime activity during the week (depending upon sitter availability).  You may also be able to find a summer nanny on Nounou Neighbors but it is not our focus nor is it guaranteed.

Yes.  Our sitters are also available for gift wrapping, organizing rooms and running errands for you or your parents!

Nounou Neighbors personally interviews, coaches and trains each sitter.  We also require a criminal background check on all of our sitters over age 18 prior to them being approved to access the app. We have built a unique system that includes an app for our sitters to receive a push notification when a family posts a job on the family app and allows the family to receive push notifications of sitters interested in their job. The family can then view the sitter’s picture, profile and phone number on the app and select the sitter applicant of their choice.

$20 a month (the first month is $65, which includes a one-time registration fee of $40) plus a one time initial payment of approximately $30 per criminal background check, which is required of every adult residing in your household.  If you sign up for a year membership your registration fee is waived.  There is no contract or long-term commitment.

You can cancel at any time through your PayPal account, Stripe account, or by emailing us at info@nounouneighbors.com .  Your credit card or bank account on file with PayPal or Stripe will be automatically billed monthly on the day of the month you registered if you are paying by the month, or on the day of your yearly anniversary if you prepay for one year of access.

Once you have registered, paid and created your profile on the app, simply click the Add a job button. You will specify your closest high school, the date and times of the job, the hourly rate you would like to pay, any notes about the job, and the ages and sexes of your children.  All of our sitters will then receive a push notification from our sitter app with your job details.  As sitters indicate that they are interested in your job you will receive push notifications with interested sitters’ names and numbers.  You can then view the sitters’ picture and profile in the app, choose your sitter, and then contact the potential sitter to work out any final details.

You will pay your sitter directly.  We do not charge any fees or percentages on what you pay your sitter.

Unfortunately, in order to keep costs to our current clients low, we are unable to pause memberships. If you cancel your membership and decide to rejoin at a later date, you will need to pay the registration fee again.

You can cancel your membership at anytime by logging into your PayPal account or Stripe and cancelling your recurring payment to Nounou Neighbors. You can also simply us at info@nounouneighbors.com. Please note that cancelling/deleting your account on the website does not cancel your recurring payments through PayPal or Stripe.

When you cancel your membership it is effective immediately and you will no longer have access to the app. If you plan on using the remaining duration of your paid month or year we suggest you wait until immediately before your renewal date before cancelling your membership. Once your payment has processed we are no longer able to issue a refund. Therefore, when you sign up please note the date you sign up and ensure that if you want to cancel your membership you do so before your next payment processes.

Sitters over 18 are required to complete a criminal background checked prior to being granted access to the app. However, many of the sitters on Nounou Neighbors are minors.  Juvenile court records are generally not public records so any background check performed on minors would be unlikely to provide to any information.

We also personally conduct a coaching and training session with each sitter.  We do encourage families to ask sitters for references or schedule a Facetime with them before the first time using a sitter and families are welcome to perform their own background checks or driving record checks if it gives them peace of mind.
